Dwellers on the prairie Plants by the water Poison in the ground Little village at the end Reach to touch Red clouds in the sky Rearing for long winter West of the Missouri Buried in the snow, frozen still Bruised protectors Busted knee Sans their arcs, empty hands are cuffed Sacred stone Back in fields of oil Stamping out their footprints Erasing them as people from the tired world From 1851 at Laramie To gold in the Black Hills That's turned to black gold Wanyi oyate to be sold "From this day forth All war between The parties to this agreement Shall forever cease." ...One nation under unkept promises

about

This song sets a hard contrast between the peaceful, natural imagery of some Native American cultural visions, and the storm of greed that has attempted to hijack their way of life time and time again, often from the U.S. government itself. All proceeds will go to benefit the Standing Rock DAPL fund. This is about the most effective way I feel I can contribute while I sit on my ass here in Ohio. I hope the song will bring some emotional rest, however temporary, to some people, and if it can raise any money at all, I suppose that's better than nothing. Use this as an avenue to support these people, and consider the song a gift from me. The Dakota Access Pipeline represents disrespect and disregard for morality, culture, and humanity. I will use my art to speak against this type of degradation wherever I am able to find inspiration through empathy. May the Standing Rock Sioux regain prosperity. I stand with them in solidarity.
